The Clink Scoops Footprint Award

On Thursday 24th May, we were rewarded for our innovative approach and dedication to sustainability when we were awarded the Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility Award, also coming runner up for the Commercial Benefit through Sustainable Practice Award, at this year’s Footprint Awards, held at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London.

Ross speaks at the House of Commons

Ross, a Clink graduate, attended The Association of Catering Excellence dinner on Friday 18th May at The House of Commons in London with Chris Moore. Summer menus going down a storm

We’ve had great feedback from our new summer menus that were launched last month. Chef Al Crisci developed each of the three menus, which run on a three week cycle, with the help of the 28 prisoners currently training in The Clink Restaurant.

Poetry and art book launch

On Monday 28th May, at Sutton Library, around 70 guests gathered to mark the launch of ‘A Collection of Art and Poetry’, a book containing over 100 pieces of work that have been produced by serving prisoners at HMP High Down.

Graduate Update – June

We are still training 28 prisoners at a time in The Clink Restaurant and 12 in the Farms and Gardens department. In May, four of our Clink graduates were released into full-time employment in the hospitality industry and this month we have three more due to be released.
