Vinum shows its support for The Clink Charity

Vinum, the respected wine merchant and importer  specialising in Italian wines, have been selling a wine called Valelapena Vino Roso which has been made by serving prisoners at the Giuseppe Montalto Prison in Alba, Piedmont in Italy.
The wine has been shipped over from Italy by Angelo Cane, managing director, Vinum and is being sold in some of the UK’s top restaurants and hotels and all profits Vinum make on this particular wine are being donated to The Clink Charity.

Chris Moore judges the Diamond Standard Awards 2013

On Wednesday 27th March, Chris Moore, chief executive of The Clink Charity judged the inaugural Teflon Diamond Standard Awards competition held at the Abbot Hill Cookery School in Dorset.
The competition saw six teams of student chefs from across the UK battle it out in a live cook-off.
Sean Noonan and Dylan Fish from Wirral Metropolitan College in Merseyside were announced the winning team and received a selection of prizes including a cash prize and £2,000 worth of non-stick bakeware and cookware.

We’re pleased that ‘A Collection of Art and Poetry’, a book containing over 100 pieces of work that have been produced by serving prisoners at HMP High Down is now available on Amazon.
Prolific author and independent filmmaker, Mark Norfolk edited the book which can be purchased on Amazon for just £8.95, or alternatively, bought directly at one of The Clink Training Restaurants.

The Clink Cymru opens its doors for evening bookings

Following a successful six months since the grand opening of The Clink Cymru at HMP Cardiff we now open the doors for dinner service for reservation-only bookings on the last Wednesday of each month.
Diners are asked to arrive at 6.30pm before enjoying a set four-course menu designed by chef Alberto Crisci and his team. The evening will conclude with coffee before diners vacate the restaurant by 9.30pm.

Spring 2013 Training and Graduate Update

It has been an extremely positive first quarter of the year so far with nine graduates completing their training and being released, from The Clink Restaurant at HMP High Down, into hospitality jobs with a further four due for release over the next two months.
Six graduates, who have trained at The Clink Cymru at HMP Cardiff, have also been released into employment within the hospitality industry with a further eight due for release over the next two months.
