City Hall Event

On Thursday 23rd February 2012, The Clink Charity and Cyrus Todiwala, owner of Café Spice Namasté, held an exclusive reception and dinner at The London Living Room, City Hall, London. Over £20,000 was raised during the evening with several industry greats attending to show their support including Italian legend and Chef Ambassador of The Clink, Antonio Carluccio, Restaurant Ambassador, Vic Laws MBE and Brian Turner CBE.

Anton Mosimann OBE hosts lunch at The Clink

On Thursday 26th April renowned chef and supporter of The Clink Charity, Anton Mosimann will be hosting a lunch to raise money for the charity. Born in Switzerland, Anton came to the UK where he was appointed Maître Chef de Cuisines at London’s Dorchester Hotel when he was just 28 years old. Cardiff prison and The Clink

Following the success of The Clink Restaurant here at HMP High Down, The Clink Charity has been in discussion with HMP Cardiff and HMP Prescoed to create a second restaurant before the end of the year.
A planning application has been submitted to build a second Clink Restaurant in conjunction with HMP Cardiff and if permission is granted, the restaurant will be built within the grounds of the prison but outside the main walls and will be completed by September.

Toast of Surrey Business Awards

On Friday 2nd March, The Clink Charity attended the 2012 Toast of Surrey Business Awards at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford where nominees from seven categories arrived to enjoy an evening of food, drink and music before a select few were announced as winners.

Royal visit at The Clink

On Tuesday 14th February Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited HMP High Down Prison and was received by Dame Sarah Goad, Lord Lieutenant of Surrey. Her Royal Highness was then presented to Mr Anthony Pearson (Trustee), Mr Simon Shepherd (Director) of the Butler Trust and Mr Peter Dawson, Governor, HMP High Down.

Team Clink run the Hotelympia 10k raising over £4,700

On Sunday 26th February Team Clink took part in the Hotelympia 10k, raising over £4,700 so far in support of The Clink Charity.
By joining up with the Hotelympia 10k run, Team Clink aimed to raise enough money to get funding to support the rehabilitation of at least one prisoner this year. Through their collaboration with Springboard Charity, the team hopes to facilitate the mentoring of ex-offenders and support them throughout their employment journey.

New Menus

Our Spring menus have now been launched in the restaurant and will run until 12th May. The menus run on a three week rotation, offering a selection of seasonal dishes, skilfully designed by Chef Al Crisci. Many of the ingredients used have been grown and harvested from The Clink’s own gardens.

Giorgio and Al at Hotelympia 2012

On Monday 27th February, chef Alberto Crisci and chef ambassador Giorgio Locatelli took to The Stage at Hotelympia to be interviewed by Philippe Rossiter, chief executive of the Institute of Hospitality.
