A message to our friends and supporters from Yvonne Thomas, Chief Executive of The Clink Charity.
I have had the honour of being the CEO of The Clink Charity since January 2022 and during that time I have been impressed and moved by how our students, graduates and colleagues work together to make rehabilitation a reality.
We operate in an incredibly tough environment, but this role has taught me that the people we work with are often from even tougher places and they need our support more than ever.
The charity has evolved a great deal during my time here and will continue to do so as we look towards the future, however I am reaching a stage in my life where I need to work differently and move away from executive responsibilities.
I have therefore decided to stand down during early 2025 when my successor has been found and a thorough handover can be arranged.
Leading The Clink has been both one of the most rewarding and challenging roles I have held. With support from colleagues, funders, the hospitality industry and our Board of Trustees, we have opened our new training and production facility at Herne Hill and will open The Clink College and a new social enterprise, Catered by Clink, on the same site in early 2025.
We are excited by our new Clink Garden which will also open in early 2025, and we will continue to seek opportunities to work in partnership to help people to change their lives through our vocational training, support, and mentoring.
I would like to thank our former Chair, Finlay Scott, and our current Chair, Bojana Ignjatovic for giving me the opportunity to lead one of the best rehabilitation charities there is. I would also like to thank you for your continued belief in our mission and for supporting me in my role as Chief Executive.
Please be assured that I will work tirelessly over the coming months to ensure that our mission delivery remains strong and that we have a long future helping people in prison, or at risk of going to prison, to make different life choices.
Yvonne Thomas
