The Clink Charity was delighted to welcome supporters, donors, charity partners, local dignitaries and members of the community to the official opening event for The Clink Gardens at HMP Erlestoke last week.

Although the garden project has been open for a year, the event marked an important milestone, providing the perfect opportunity to showcase the progress made by students and celebrate the programme’s achievements. Guests were able to see a thriving harvest of fresh produce, flowers and plants grown by students who have spent the past 12 months developing practical horticultural skills and knowledge.

The event highlighted the positive impact The Clink Gardens is having on both the people involved and the environment around them. Through hands-on training and meaningful work, students gain valuable experience, confidence and employability skills that can support successful rehabilitation and future employment opportunities.

Visitors also heard about the development of the gardens over the past year and the ambitions for future growth, while meeting the students whose dedication and hard work have helped bring the project to life.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the event and all those who have supported The Clink Gardens at HMP Erlestoke. Our grateful thanks go to The Julia Rausing Trust for funding this wonderful garden space. Together, we are creating opportunities for people to learn, grow and build brighter futures.
