Private Dining

INTRODUCTION

Book private dining at The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton and enjoy a bespoke tasting menu created by our Head Chef Trainer Ellie Shaw and students training towards their qualifications. The menu features seasonal ingredients and showcases the high standard of quality and excellence of the training at The Clink Restaurant.

The private dining room is available for bookings from Mondays–Thursdays, for lunch and selected evenings, and would make the perfect location for a special celebration or occasion. Typical costs are £100 per head with a bespoke seasonal menu.

The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton is frequently placed in the Top 10 restaurants in London on TripAdvisor, and in 2017 all of our restaurants held the Number 1 spot for six months. In 2023, Brixton was awarded a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award, placing the restaurant in the top 10% worldwide. It was also awarded an AA Rosette and Gold Accreditation – one of only three restaurants in London to receive this accolade.

Visits to The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton must be pre-booked at least seven working days before arrival. As the restaurant is located within a Category-C prison, security checks must be completed on all people visiting before a booking reservation can be confirmed. All visitors must be over 18. All diners must bring their physical photo ID (driving license or passport). You will be asked to pay a security deposit and submit guest information in advance of your booking. Please ensure you complete both of these steps at your earliest convenience or your booking may be cancelled due to high demand.
We recommend all guests read our Guidelines and Procedures here which includes a list of items that are prohibited including handbags, mobile phones and cigarettes.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your booking. This will give you time to lock away personal belongings and be given a security briefing on arrival. Please note you may be subject to a search before entering the prison. Expect airport-style security on arrival. Ensure you are dressed appropriately; further guidelines can be found here.
Your meal will be cooked and served by students training towards gaining their accredited qualifications. By dining with us, you are giving them a valuable learning experience. Please note that we are an alcohol-free restaurant as we are located inside a prison.
You can pay by debit card, credit card or gift vouchers for your meal and any retail items. Payment will be taken inside the restaurant so please note that you will not be able to pay via Apple/Google Pay as mobile phones/smart watches are not allowed inside the prison. A discretionary 12.5% will be added in place of a service charge to help support the work of the charity.
