On Wednesday 12th July, bakeries from across the UK gathered in London to celebrate this year’s shortlisted nominees. We are delighted to announce that The Clink Bakery won its first award of Social Enterprise Bakery of the Year.

The bakery team, Head Pastry Chef Trainer Abbie Mallinson, Sous Pastry Chef Trainer Georgia Turnell and Simon McKinnon-Brahams, National Customer Operations Manager were invited on to the stage to collect their award.

This is the first award that The Clink Bakery has won since opening at HMP Brixton in October 2022.  The bakery has the capacity to train up to 10 students at a time towards gaining their qualifications in General Patisserie and supports them into finding accommodation and employment opportunities once they are released from prison through the work of the charity’s resettlement support worker team. Yvonne Thomas, Chief Executive of The Clink Charity, said of the team that she was “delighted that the industry has recognised your impact”.

Orders for collection from HMP Brixton are available via the website; please click here to see our menu and place your order.
