We are hugely excited and privileged to announce that chef Jon Watts will be joining us for a very special evening on Thursday 9 October.

Jon will be working alongside our students and staff in The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton on an unforgettable menu inspired by his best-selling cookery books, as well as talking about his remarkable journey.

Jon is a professional chef, recipe creator, and influential social media chef. His first book with Bloomsbury, Speedy Weeknight Meals, was a No.1 Sunday Times bestseller on launch.

After getting into serious trouble as a teenager, Jon was sentenced to six and a half years in a young offenders’ institute. He was determined not to fall into the vicious cycle of reoffending, so he took on every opportunity he could to learn and develop. He picked up cooking and was the first person in custody to achieve all three Duke of Edinburgh awards. After leaving, he secured a job at one of Jamie Oliver’s restaurants before embarking on his own projects. Jon has gained national exposure through his social media profile and TV appearances. Away from cooking, Jon uses his story to inspire a range of audiences, from businesses to at-risk young people. Follow him on Instagram @jonwatts88

Your ticket will include a delicious multi-course meal and mocktail, prepared by our students in training. You also have the option to add a signed book to your order, which you will receive on the night. We are so grateful to Jon for his time and passion for what promises to be a truly memorable evening. All proceeds from the event will go towards The Clink’s work to reduce re-offending.

Book your tickets here.

Thursday 9th October, 5.30 – 8.30pm at The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton, SW2 5XF.
