Clink Events catered for a special reception at St Paul’s Cathedral on Monday 2nd October to celebrate the re-opening of the Cathedral’s library following a period of refurbishment.
Guests included major donors who had contributed to the refurbishment as well as senior staff from the Cathedral. The Cathedral team were impressed by Clink Events’ theming ideas and understanding of the brief and they were honoured to be selected to cater for the first event in the Triforium.
The brief was to draw inspiration from the library, so the team used bronze damask linen and cut crystal flutes to work with the grand surroundings. Canapes were presented in a number of innovative ways to integrate the library theme, including Perspex boxes inserted with old book pages and even a box resembling an old book.
Beautiful floral arrangements for the reception area and the bar were provided by Hybrid Flowers. Guests were offered Court Garden English sparkling wine and a selection of cold canapes including cauliflower panna cotta on a parmesan shortbread and ham hock crackling with green apply jelly which were all made in the production kitchen inside HMP Downview.
Given that Clink Events were the first to cater for an event in this space, special consideration had to be given to loading in equipment and setting up around the Cathedral’s services.
The reception was a great success and the team received fantastic feedback from Nicholas Salmon, Corporate Events Manager at St Paul’s Cathedral, who commented, “A huge thank you to all the team who delivered such a wonderful reception. The comments about the food, the service and how engaging the waiting staff were all positive. These were received from guests and the Cathedral senior team and have all been most complimentary. The space looked wonderful, you took up the challenge of my brief on presentation with great gusto and personally I was delighted. For our first event up in the Triforium I could not have been happier.”
