The Clink has continued its training projects throughout lockdown and needs your support to continue transforming the lives of Clink learners.

Of the twelve projects, The Clink operates, five projects have remained operational during the pandemic. The Clink’s popular restaurants, forced to close under restrictions were set to reopen when the latest instruction to lockdown was received. Shutting Styal within a few weeks of a successful reopening was necessary but disappointing.

The Clink Projects which are currently open and allow us to continue important training:

  • Clink Restaurant at HMP High Down, serving HMP staff
  • Clink Gardens at HMP High Down
  • Clink Gardens at HMP Send
  • Clink Kitchens at HMP Bristol
  • Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton serving customers through Clink@Home for local deliveries within 10 miles and Clink&Collect for HMP staff

Our Clink training has however continued with Clink Gardens at HMP Send and Styal remaining open throughout, launching our latest project from Brixton with Clink@Home and our Kitchen training projects have maintained important learner experience throughout this year.

Supporting The Clink
However, we still need your support and whilst our Covid-19 Support Fund has been invaluable, the extended lockdown and restrictions mean we are unable to serve customers again for many weeks to come. It is not clear when we will be able to open all our sites.

The Clink Restaurants have held deposits for diners for all cancelled and postponed bookings. We would like to offer all those who hold deposits options of how to use these funds in the current circumstances.

Your deposit
  1. You can choose to donate your deposit to The Clink Restaurant, helping us maintain training behind the walls
  2. You can opt to trade your deposit for Clink cookbooks and gifts
  3. We can continue to hold your deposit until we open again
We are also offering any Clink voucher holders the same option; to donate, trade or hold until such time as we reopen. Let us know your instructions by completing the form.

By donating, you will be supporting The Clink across its varied projects in prisons across the UK.

To donate your deposit, you can tell us what you would like to do by completing the questionnaire here.

Simply complete the questionnaire and let us know if you would like to donate, trade for gifts and goodies or hold until we reopen.

If you would like to trade your deposit (or Clink vouchers) for retail goods, you will be able to choose from:

  • Exclusive design Clink Christmas Cards including ‘Doing Bird’ featured below
  • Clink cookbooks including our 10 Year cookbook, featuring recipes from our Chef-Ambassadors
  • Clink merchandise including aprons, tea towels, mugs, eco-friendly shopping bags and stationery

To view what is available, you can visit The Clink Charity online store for more information. Please note that a delivery charge applies to any goods ordered.
