On Monday 26th June, the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) Annual Dinner & Awards took place at the London Hilton Bankside. Guests from the hospitality industry across the UK, Europe, Asia and America celebrated the 85th year anniversary and the winners of the all the awards.
We are delighted to announce that The Clink Charity won Best Educational Programme (SME), sponsored by HIT Training, for our Clink Kitchens project.
Jane Sanderson, Operations Director, Simon McKinnon-Brahams, National Customer Operations Manager and Paul Clarkson, Quality & Training Director, were there to receive the award on stage by the Chair of the IoH Board of Trustees, Kellie Rixon MBE FIH, IoH President The Rt Hon. the Viscount Thurso FIH MI and IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI.
Yvonne Thomas, Chief Executive, thanked the whole Charity team the following morning and noted “it’s a whole Clink team award. Everyone has played a part. Thank you to all who have helped move this project forward.”
Clink Kitchens operates in 30 prisons across England and Wales, where chef trainer assessors are currently training 150 students working in the existing prison kitchen towards gaining their qualifications. Supported by New Futures Network and His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, The Clink can deliver training for up to 250 men and women in prison kitchens to achieve qualifications in hospitality and gain employment upon release, proven to dramatically reduce reoffending.
